Abstract |
Traditional medicine has played a crucial role in healthcare systems across developing countries for centuries, serving as a primary source of treatment for many populations. Despite its widespread use, integrating traditional medicine with modern healthcare remains a significant challenge due to factors such as regulatory inconsistencies, lack of scientific validation, and differences in treatment approaches. This review explores the role of traditional medicine in developing nations, examining its benefits, cultural significance, and potential contributions to modern medical practices. Key challenges, including quality control, safety concerns, and limited research on efficacy, are discussed alongside strategies for improving integration. The paper highlights the need for evidence-based approaches, policy development, and collaboration between traditional healers and modern healthcare professionals to create a more inclusive and effective healthcare system.
